CHELMSFORD -- The Central Catholic girls took home their second straight Merrimack Valley Conference Championship title on Saturday. The Raiders finished with 137.5 points, topping No. 2 North Andover (110.5).
Leading Central were victories from Rayniah Mercedat (400), Macy Daigle (high jump), Franchesca Thurston (javelin) and Anya Neira (triple jump).
The North Andover received wins from Makenna Dube (discus) and Erika Wojcik (800).
The Andover boys placed second as a team (120 points). Jason DeJesus won the 100, 200 and anchored the winning 4x100 and Harvey Lys won the high jump and long jump, and was second in the triple jump.
Other big wins for the locals included Haverhill's Natanael Vigo Catala in the 400 and Central's John Ryan in the 400 hurdles.
