Hello, I just wanted to say I have been "stalking" this group for a while and finally took a deep breath... and joined. I'm a healthcare worker and I'm being completely sincere when I say you all helped me through a pandemic! There are so many talented writers here! I can't believe you are so kind and tolerant of people like myself. I have never written fiction of any kind, so when I finally get the nerve to actually post something, please consider the goofy source. 
I also have a tendency to click on things to see what happens (yeah, I know. Just one of my many character flaws.) so please know when I make mistakes, and believe me, I will make mistakes, it's not because I'm trying to be a jerk. It's because I'm being a big tech impaired idiot. But I do eventually learn, so there's that.
So thanks writers and Admins- you ROCK!

Welcome! I just joined in March after reading as a visitor the year before during the shutdown. I read for a full year myself before I braved my first story.
I have met several great authors on here who have encouraged me! Good luck!

We're very glad you decided to take the plunge. I would venture to say that a large number of the people on this board lurked for a long time before joining up. And many of us only read the stories for months or even years (including myself.)
Don't hesitate to ask for help or just throw out a question if something is confusing. The moderators are terrific. And it's easy to make friends on this board. So jump in; the water's fine!

We all have at some point mess something up here I have done my share... like posting something in the wrong place.. and I have been here a while..
So glad the place helped you, that is the best thing a site can be said about. It has helped me a few times.. it was my normal place I knew
So a bit late but have a seat near the fireplace. and on the trolly you will find coffee, tea, and lemon ade... on the side table are a mixture of cookies. and small cakes. trying to talk Silas into making some ice cream.. Maybe one of the boys should do that they are younger..
