Today is the day of HUMONGOUS book announcements, because Jessica Townsend has just announced the title and release date of the new Nevermoor book! It’s called Silverborn: The Mystery of Morrigan Crow and it’s hitting shelves on the 23rd of October, 2023.

Here’s the blurb:
Discover the Wundrous world of Nevermoor in the highly anticipated fourth book in the New York Times bestselling series.
Morrigan Crow is ready for a new adventure. In Silverborn: The Mystery of Morrigan Crow, we will travel to places in Nevermoor that we’ve never seen, meet people from Morrigan’s past who will be very important in untangling the mystery of who she is … and see Morrigan aligning herself with someone very dangerous to learn more of the Wundrous Arts.
This will be the fourth book in this bestselling series that began way back in 2017 with Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow, following the adventures of one plucky (and unlucky) girl named Morrigan who discovers she has some rather unusual powers. While the final number of books in the series is yet to be finalised, there could be up to nine books according to Jessica Townsend.
October 2023 is a long time away, which means that you have plenty of time to re-read the series before Silverborn is released.
You know what to do Nevermoor fans – pre-order your copy of Silverborn: The Mystery of Morrigan Crow now (available in paperback and hardcover)!
EDIT: This post has been updated to reflect the new publication date of 23rd October, 2023 (previously 22nd September, 2022).

While I love that the release date has been advanced to the 28th Sept 2022, it is frustrating that this is more than a year away. It would be great to know why there is such a delay in getting this to the market.

Hi Chris,
The delay is due to the fact that Jessica Townsend hasn’t written it yet – she explains more in the Silverborn highlight on her Instagram page.
Hope that helps!

I love the Nevermoor series, it’s one of my favorites, but after the fourth book, please don’t make a 2-year delay… or you can I guess. It must be hard writing such a good but long book that people are DYING for the next update… thanks for the hard work, and hope you can get us the 5th book faster.
Love,

So excited for this next book! I will be preordering when I have the money to but I’m curious – will Silverborn be available in a signed copy as Wundersmith and Hollowpox were? Thanks!

Hey there,
Thanks for your interest in this book – we’re super excited for Silverborn too! We would absolutely love to have signed copies available for this book, but since it isn’t coming out for another year it’s too early to know if we’ll be able to organise a signing with Jessica.
Once we know if signed copies will be available, we’ll be letting customers know via our social media channels and our newsletter, so make sure you follow us there or sign up so you can stay informed.
Thanks,
OliviaReply
